Tips for Convincing Others to Think About the Environment

There are various ways that you convince others to think about the environment and the best way to do that is by showing others what they can do to help protect the environment and the benefits of this to them if they participate. You can go to various schools and talk to the students in assembly about the impact they are having on the environment and help show them different ways that they can help take care of it. Ask the schools if they could start a recycling plan to help reduce the waste that is going to the landfills. And encourage kids to learn just how to organize and separate everything, these are lessons that they can apply to their homes as well.

You can also ask to speak at the next city council meeting about what people can do to help the environment and encourage recycling. You could maybe get the city interested in setting up an area where people could take their various items that can be recycled instead of sending it all to the landfill. The person may want to consider pointing out how this will benefit the city as there are many grants out there that are given to those cities that start their own recycling program to help and so forth. Thus, the money to do this should not be an issue in getting people to become more involved.

If you like to write you could set up a blog or website online with various tips and articles on how to protect our environment such as how to live green, what we should recycle, how you can make your car more eco-friendly, how you can save on energy costs, and anything else that would get a person interested in helping to save our environment. Then, advertise to others that are in your local neighborhood about the website in order to make sure that they are getting the hint and getting involved.

You could start a group in your neighborhood that recycles and what is made from the recycling effort would be donated to a local organization like a food pantry, or maybe to help a family or so in need. In this way the person is not only helping the environment, but they are giving back to those that are in need, which gives people double the motivation to participate in such activities.

You should start with your own household and start practicing going green and recycling, and making sure that the kids get to help out. If your child is in Scouts or some other type of organization you could talk to them about conserving the environment and organize a "clean-up" day where you can go to a favorite lake or to vacant lots and pick up the trash, making sure that you separate it into trash and recycling items. After recycling the items, they can take the money and have a small party. This could be done every couple of months, and they are going to have fun while also doing something that is going to benefit the environment. Plus, it teaches the value of hard work and carrying for the environment since it is the only one that we have.
